Call for Interpreters
The CAL-ED Conference Planning Committee is looking for full- and part-time ASL/English and ASL/English/Spanish interpreters for the conference in San Diego, California. All applicants must be RID/NAD certified in good standing.
Interpreters will receive hourly compensation at $45 per hour.
All applicants must submit the following:
- A completed application
- A completed reference list
- A resume highlighting conference and platform interpreting experience. Please identify if you can interpret, transliterate, or both.
- Video of interpreting skills. See Videotape Guidelines and specifics below.
For ASL/English applicants, also submit:
- Ten to fifteen minute unrehearsed videotape/cd/dvd demonstrating ASL to English interpreting skills. Video must show the ASL source with interpreting voice over.
- Ten to fifteen minute unrehearsed videotape/cd/dvd demonstrating English to ASL interpreting skills. Video must show the ASL interpreting and include the English source.
For ASL/English/Spanish applicants, also submit:
- Ten to fifteen minute unrehearsed videotape/cd/dvd demonstrating spoken English to spoken Spanish interpreting skills.
- Ten to fifteen minute unrehearsed videotape/cd/dvd demonstrating ASL to spoken Spanish interpreting skills.
- Ten to fifteen minute unrehearsed videotape/cd/dvd demonstrating spoken Spanish to ASL interpreting skills. All samples must include the source text.
